Adhesive Floor Labels

Adhesive floor labels with a peel and stick backing are a composite product, developed as a low-cost high-strength solution which can be used as a consumable item.

Utilizing the strength of polyester materials and advanced adhesives, our plastic floor barcodes are extremely popular with logistics and distribution facilities, configured for bulk floor storage. These are quick and easy to use.

ASG Services explore and test all types of materials to help push product performance. Floor tags are used in the most harsh environment of a warehouse, therefore they must be the most durable we can produce. Polyester technologies have helped advance the durable qualities of plastic floor labels and with our production process, we have managed to keep costs low.

Adhesive Floor Labels

Label design and content is unrestricted thanks to specialist software and digital printing systems. Our adhesive option is often produced with alpha, numeric and barcode content, however the combination and layout can also include full color and significant detail. Our production design team will help with advice as well as create tags to your exact specifications.

Our high definition printing machines are the latest in performance and consistency. Floor labels are created in stages the first of which is printing. All products are checked for quality and accuracy, with further tests carried out on barcode quality which we believe is extremely important to help achieve a ‘one-scan’ barcode label.

Floor Labels Installed

The six part product when placed on the floor is 0.041” thick. This is important in helping to reduce the impact face and subsequent damage caused by fork lift truck impact.

Regardless of how durable we have made the plastic floor labels, they are not a long lasting product and will be damaged by pallets scraping over, wheels turning on them and by long term use.

We supply floor barcodes with adhesive backings direct or as part of an installation service. For those ordering as supply only, we provide them in the sequence designated in the location file. This can help improve the speed of installation and maintaining control of accuracy.

ASG Services installation teams travel throughout the US and often install floor location tags as part of large projects or as a floor labeling project. All are fully trained and insured to work on all customer sites. You can read more on our warehouse labeling page.

Frequently asked questions
  • How do I build a rack location data file?

If you are not able to generate a location file from your warehouse management system, we recommend you use a spreadsheet to help build your own. Spreadsheets allow you to use columns to separate the location sub references, and the rows to quickly expand the number of derivates per run. These columns of data can then be combined to create the barcode data and separately to create the readable elements with separators so operatives can read the rack and shelf location names easily.

Read more on how to build a warehouse location data file.

  • Can floor labels be damaged?

Yes. Floor labels are the most susceptible location label in a warehouse, they are tough and if used correctly can be extremely cost effective, but they are impacted by material handling equipment, pallets, cages, skids, and everything else which is in contact with your floor.

    Ways to avoid damage include:

    • Placing the label to the left or right of a pallet lane or storage location entrance. This helps avoid continual impact.
    • Lift pallets and forks clear above the floor. This prevents impacts.
    • Turn in clear space, not on the floor label or line striping. A wheel turning on a label, will twist the label and rip it off the floor.
    • Place a floor label protector over the label, these can help improve the lifespan on the label.
    • Place a floor label frame to surround the label which protect and allow you to change the label as needed.

You can drive over our adhesive floor labels without damage being caused, but anything impacted will be damaged, even the protective covers and frames. Consider a training session with your MHE operators also.

  • What color options are available?

Almost any color can be supplied in board and character material. Customers looking to match company brand colors or a previous scheme can be accommodated with a huge range of color options to choose from.

For those looking for more intricate designs or information and diagram signs, colors are unlimited.  We utilize digital print technologies for these which are almost limitless.

  • Which warehouse label can I use on the floor in a cold store facility?

We produce self adhesive floor labels which are of a durable grade for use on warehouse floors, and we have combined these composite labels with special low temperature adhesive, which work in extremely low temperatures.  They are ideal of use in cold store facilities and freezer chambers.  We recommend you thoroughly clean the floor surface prior to application and only take the labels into the freezer once you are ready to apply them for maximum performance.

Our high performance freezer adhesive is suitable for application at  -65ºF or -54ºC.
